Favor App

This UX/UI design solution proposes a mobile app called Favor, which aims to make the consumer shopping experience easier, more productive, and more personal for everyone. Users save time because they do not have to travel, and they also save money when they get the best deals for products and services at below the retail price. And returning the favor to help others save time and money makes it all so rewarding.

Brand & Style Guide

Favor leans into the power of the Good Samaritan — users can not only save time and money themselves, but they can also feel fulfilled when they help others do the same. The app encourages random acts of kindness from strangers in the neighborhood.

TYPOGRAPHY

The official brand typeface for the Favor logo and for display type is YummyCupcakes. With the font’s simple and fun handwriting qualities, the Favor logo appears friendly, approachable, and personable. And the clean and legible sans-serif qualities of Lato, the official brand typeface for body type, complement the YummyCupcakes typeface and demonstrate reliability, dependability, and trustworthiness in the process of giving and receiving favors.

COLOR

The official accent color for the Favor app is a friendly shade of green commonly associated with growth and generosity. Favor users build relationships with their neighbors and local communities when they do favors for each other, and they still save time and money while doing so.

The Favor User

Favor targets millennials and the middle-income working class, and it attracts users whose goals align with those of the app: to save time and to save money. Having someone else run the errand saves the user a trip to the store, and the reversed bidding process saves the user a few extra dollars each time they ask for a favor.

How It Works

After logging in, the user arrives at the interactive map with icons showing all the favor requests within a specified radius of their current location. The user’s own favor requests stand out on the map as green icons. The user can also access the main menu from any screen.

The user can tap or swipe right to review their own favor requests, and they can tap or swipe left to review and update bids they previously submitted. These panels are otherwise hidden from view for a more simplified interface, but the arrows remain visible.

Ask For A Favor

To ask for a favor, the user can tap the black button at the bottom of the map. The user can set the bidding deadline using a scrolling number wheel, and the deadline appears in date/time form. When the user is satisfied with their details, they can submit the request.

To update a favor that has already been submitted, the user can select the specific favor in the Pending Requests panel on the map. The starting bid cannot be changed while the bidding period is live, but the user can choose to end the bidding period early.

Make A Bid

When a user taps on a favor icon on the map, they can immediately view all the details of the selected favor, including the requested delivery location and the real-time status of the bidding period. To make a new bid, the user can use the scrolling number wheel, which only includes numerical values lower than the current bid.

To update a bid that has already been submitted, the user can make the desired changes by selecting the specific favor in the Pending Bids panel on the map.
